Creating categories

Take a look on the right side of your window. You can see a section called categories. It took me like a few hours to figure out how i could get it. I searched the Search engines and attempted to follow instructions but i think it's too complicated, perhaps impossible for some. As i was just about to give up, i finally realised a much simpler way to achieve a categorial archive section. Just read on, and you'll find that i'm not lying.

Firstly, the bad news. Only people with blogger accounts will be able to apply this method. And now, the much awaited revelation. In order to create a categorial archive, all YOU have to do is to update your template to the new blogger template, if you have not done so. After you've done so, you will notice a new tab called "Layout". Click on the tab and add a new page element, the one you want (labels). Voila! You've successfully created a categorial archive. After every post you made, all you have to do now is to add a label. Blogger will automatically categorise your labels on your sidebar. Brilliant isn't it. You will also notice that you can add a whole lot more widgets to your sidebar. Have fun fiddling around!

Some basics about Adsense

Adsense is considered as one of the most powerful tool in a website publisher’s arsenal. It enables a person to monetize their sites easily. If used properly, it can generate a very large and healthy income for them. However if you are not using them the right way and maximising the output, you are actually leaving a lot of money on the table and besides, no one likes leaving money on the table.

To achieve something with Adsense is simple and you will be amazed at the results you will be getting in such a short period of time.

Start by writing some quality content articles which are also keyword incorporated. There are a lot of people given the gift of being good with words. Writing comes easy for them. Why not make it work in such a way that you will be earning some extra cash in the process?

There are actually three steps to put into mind before you begin writing your ads and having an effective Adsense.

1) Keyword search.

-Find some popular subjects, keywords or phrase. Select the ones which you think has more people clicking through. Overture.com is pretty good for assessing your keywords but i've been unable to access their website so this other website, Digital Point suggestion Tool, will have to do. It obtains data from Overture as well. If you have a greater budget, why not check out www.keywordelite.com?

2) Writing articles.

-Start writing original content with keywords from the topics that you have achieved in your search. Take note that search engines are taking pride in the quality of their articles and what you will be writing should keep up with their demands.

3) Quality content site.

-Build a quality content site incorporated with Adsense ads that is targeting the subject and keywords of your articles and websites. This is where all that you’ve done initially will go to and this is also where they will prove their worth to you.

The location of where you place your ads is important. According to research, the one place that surfers look first when they visit a certain site is the top left. The reason behind this is not known. Maybe it is because some of the most useful search engine results are at the top of all other rankings. So visitors tend to look in that same place when browsing through other sites.

----------------------------------------

Some of those who are just starting at this business may think they are doing pretty well already and thinking that their clickthrough rates are quite healthy. The most important factor that proves that you are doing well is the number of unique visitors. There are also other ways to generate more clicks to increase your earnings which is worth learning in depth about.

Finally, Adsense has some excellent tracking statistics that allows webmasters and publishers to track their results across a number of sites by "site by site" or even "page by page". You should be aware of this capability and make the most of it because it is one powerful tool that will help you find out the better performing ads. This way, you can fine-tune your Adsense ads and focus more on the ones being visited the most rather than those who are being ignored.

Another thing you should know. Banners and skyscrapers are dead. Ask the experts. So better forget about banners and skyscrapers. Surfers universally ignore these kinds of ad formats. The reason behind this is that they are recognized as an advert and adverts are rarely of any interest that’s why people ignore them. To better demonstrate this, ask yourself, would you click on something knowing that it is an ad?

To really start making money with Adsense, you should have a definite focus on what you want to achieve and how you will go about achieving them. As with any other kind of business ventures, both time and patience are required.

In addition, do not ignore your site and your Adsense once you have finished accomplishing them. Spare some time making adjustments to the Adsense ads on your sites to better trigger your Adsense income.

BannerBuddy

I got a software here called BannerBuddy. It will be useful for people who are new to graphics editing. Basically it helps you to create a banner for any reason you want that banner for. Going off at a low price of 5 dollars!

Adsense for content sites

The concept of Adsense is really simple. Firstly, the webmaster inserts a javascript into their website. Every time the page is accessed, the javascript will pull advertisements from the Adsense program. The ads that are targeted in a way that the ads will be relevant to the content that the javascript is on. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the webmaster will earn a portion of the money that the advertiser paid the search engine to advertise.

The search engine handles all the tracking and paying, hence making the task of publishing content and relevant ads much easier for the webmasters. This includes, collecting funds, tracking one's statistics as well as looking for advertisers. In this way, precious time, which is important for people with tight schedule, can be saved. It seems though that there is never a shortage of advertisers in the program from which the search engine pulls the Adsense ads. Also webmasters are less concerned by the lack of information search engines are providing and are more focused in making cash from these search engines.

The first reason why Adsense is essential for content sites is because it already has come a long way in understanding the needs of publishers and webmasters. Together with its continuous progression is the appearance of more advanced system that allows full ad customization. Webmasters are given the freedom to choose from a vareity of types of text ad formats to better fit their website's layout. This may just increase the possibilities of a visitor clicking on an ad.

The second reason is the ability of the Adsense publishers to track not only how their sites are progressing but also the earnings based on the webmaster-defined channels. The recent improvements in the search engines gives webmasters the capability to monitor how their ads are performing using customizable reports that has the capacity to detail page impressions, clicks and click-through rates. Webmasters and publishers can now track specific ad formats, colors and pages within a website. Trends are also easily spotted.

With the real-time reporting at hand, the effectiveness of the changes made will be assessed quickly. There would be time to sort out the contents that people are making the most clicks on. The ever-changing demands would be met while generating cash for the webmasters and publishers. The more flexible tools are also allowing webmasters to group web pages by URL, domain, ad type or category, which will provide them some accurate insight on which pages, ads and domains are performing best.

The thrid reason is that the advertisers have realised the benefits associated by having their ads served on targeted websites as this increases the possibility that a web surfer will have an interest in thier ad while visiting a webpage. As opposed to those who are not using Adsense in their sites, they are given the liberty of having other people do their content for them, giving them the benefit of having successful and money-generating web sites.

Adsense is all about targeted content, the more focused your content is, the more targeted the search engines’ ads will be. There are some web masters and publishers who are more focused on their site content and how best to maintain them rather than the cash that the ads will generate for them. This is the part where the effectiveness of the ads are at its peak.

People were not aware of the money made from advertisements previously. Making money from ads only came into existence when the webmasters and publishers realised how they can make Adsense be that generator. Back then, content was the most important factor for a good website. Now, content is just as important, with the allure of money, of course.

Gaming

Gaming has been around for quite some time. Talking about gaming here does not involve gambling, which amazingly, is a form of gaming. I am talking about video gaming. Personally, i have a console as well as a desktop. However, i spend more time gaming on my desktop as i find the keyboard and mouse more homely to the touch. My In game name (IGN) always varies either to kael or to blueberry. It's just a random name for me, a random player. I do have another name in mind though, if i were to make gaming a career for me, and that's - windsolace.

Internet marketing

Internet marketing is a source of income for many people. Firstly, internet marketing is the selling of goods and services online. I first started on internet marketing a few months back. What is important about internet marketing is that you must be wary when signing up for sites which requests for your credit card information. Unless you are sure that the site is secure, do NOT sign up for them. Also, i think it is essential for internet marketeers to have a paypal account which assists in online transactions.

Late introduction

Apparently, i have not introduced myself yet. Well, for those who do not know me, i'm known as blueberry or kael. They are kind of faux names for myself especially in online games. That's right, one of my interest is in gaming. I started gaming since i was only about 10 years old. Games back then runs on MS DOS. Now, i am 18 and spends time gaming too. Games i play include Warcraft 3, Starcraft and Half-life. Apart from gaming, i spend time online doing some minor internet marketing. Certainly it helps if i earn some extra income for my gaming expenses! I will be running this blog to post about my gaming and internet marketing experiences. And now, it's time for the first post.

Looking for a job?

Time for the first advertising post.

URL: https://jobhuntweb.viacom.com/jobhunt/main/jobhome.asp

Title: Job hunt

This website is runned by MTV networks, which is under a larger company called Viacom. Therefore, most of it's job opportunities are in relation to the media. For example, if you are interested in the media, companies such as Nickelodeon and Harmonix may have what you are looking for. In addition to listing job opportunities and recruiting events, there are internship opportunities listed. Personally, i think that this is a wonderful opportunity for students to gain experience while waiting for entrance to an university. These experiences would be very useful for one's future career. To begin searching for a job or apply for a job, all one has to do is to register for a profile, create a resume and you are all prepped up for a job. Convenient indeed. Do check out the website! Having more queries? There is a comment button where you will be able to submit comments.
